A Little Advise

How do you keep writing when you don't have a deadline, and no one is waiting for your work? I struggled with that myself. I've had three books published but that was it. Nothing else is expected from me.  I had to strong-arm myself to sit in that chair and write.

What did I do? Well the first thing I did was not give up. You can't stop writing that book. No book, no contract.

Make your own deadlines and keep them. Search the web for publishers that publish your genre and treat them as your goal.

Use someone for accountability. Other writers are good for that. Critique groups especially. For me, I have friends to push me and keep writing. They help me with my plots when I've stalled, and their voices are in my head when I'm not writing.

If you do stall, go back and do some editing. You might find it gets the juices flowing and you're able to move forward.

If you're going to self-pub set a date when you want your book to come out and stick to it. It's a lot of work but I know you can do it.

Also, get off social media. There is a time and place for that. You're writing time is more important. I'm not saying don't do it, just find leisure time, like when you're watching TV. It doesn't require your full attention to peruse facebook, or instagram. They just take up time. Use your computer for the greater good.

I know it's hard, but keep going, reach your goals and don't give up. You will be rewarded in the end.

So what are you working on?
